State Police Conduct Sobriety Checkpoints for St. Patrick's Day
The Indiana State Police will be conducting sobriety checkpoints and roving saturation patrols in dozens of Indiana counties over the St. Patrick's Day holiday and into the weekend. Police will be aggressively targeting drivers for charges of Operating While Intoxicated, as well as citations for unrestrained motorists. Checkpoints will take place in Porter County, Clark County, Marion County, Miami County, Henry County, and St. Joseph County. After the checkpoints, several additional counties will be subject to "roving saturation patrols".

Marion County Gun Conviction Reversed Due to Unreasonable Search
The Indiana Supreme Court reversed a Marion County man’s Class A misdemeanor conviction for carrying a handgun without a license. At appeal, the Court determined the impoundment and subsequent search of the man’s vehicle was unreasonable, rendering the handgun found in the vehicle to be inadmissible in court.
