It’s Little 500 Weekend at IU. Our Bloomington Attorneys are Ready!

This weekend’s Little 500 is one of Bloomington’s greatest traditions. It’s also patrolled aggressively by local and excise police. In each of 2016 and 2017, more than 150 people were arrested for crimes such as public intoxication, minor consumption, disorderly conduct, and possession of marijuana.  In 2018, police in Bloomington made more felony than misdemeanor arrests the weekend of Little 500. This weekend may also see increased police focus on operating while intoxicated cases. DUI arrests often peak on event weekends at IU.

If you are arrested at Little 5, it’s important to hire an attorney with experience representing college students. A criminal arrest or conviction could result in Personal Misconduct Proceedings with Indiana University. A criminal record could also impact a student’s job prospects upon graduation. Gibson Law Office has represented college students for 20 years. And, our attorneys are Indiana University alumni. We know Bloomington and Monroe County.

For years, Indiana University students have been racing around the quarter-mile track at Bill Armstrong Stadium as they chase victory on “The World’s Greatest College Weekend.” It is a time of celebration and tradition at IU.
